Sorry, this entry is only available in Dutch.

Practice in Kosters Koele te Markelo

In the Kosters Koele at Markelo we were expected  to jointly to exercise with the Canadian pipe band of the 28 Canadian Legion Band and the Sun Parlor Pipes & Drums. This was needed to get properly tuned for the 4th of May commemoration service in Holten.

In the afternoon, the Canadians went to the “Klootschieten” (curling with balls on country lanes),  which tuned out to be a revaluation.

We started tuning at 6pm. And the matching turned out to be good,  which resulted in a wonderful sound of 18 pipers and 12 drummers. (which we all enjoyed)

A mighty sound echoed from the theatre of the Kosters Cool, the Canadians were also very surprised of the beautiful matching of the instruments.

At 18,45 the Dutch Minister of Defence was piped in by 6 junior members of the Canadian Bands. This to her delight. (we all could see the smile).

As everybody got hungry, the organization had arranged a BBQ. Ten, after some speeches by various speakers, amongst the Minister, she was once again piped out by Canadian.

Time flew by and we  had to rush to go home, because the next day had a busy program.
